I am a contemporary painter and freelance illustrator and designer of over six years. I graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2011 with a first-class honours degree in Illustration, from the University of Brighton in 2014 with a Master’s degree in Sequential Design and Illustration and from the University of Southampton in 2015 with a teaching qualification in Further Education.

My first picture book, The Princess And The Fog, a story about a young girl who begins to suffer from depression was released in June 2015 by Jessica Kingsley Publishers with contributions from Dr Melinda Edwards MBE and Linda Bayliss. When I’m not writing and illustrating picture books or teaching, I am usually freelancing. Illustration clients include upstart restaurant and shop chain Food Kiosks, Ltd., entertainment website The Let’s Play Archive, web designer Daniel Sexton, Blissfields music festival and online humourist Bobby Cowling. My work has also been displayed in a number of galleries and exhibitions in the South of England, in collaboration with local art organisations such as Portsmouth Creative Movement and Strong Island. I also sell paintings and take commissions independently via my online store and social media channels.

I’m interested in trying out new techniques, experimenting with mixtures of wet and dry media and making a huge mess and getting paint and ink all over all of my clothes and possessions. I’m a particularly big user of acrylic paint, watercolour pencils, ink and old yellowing magazines and sheet music. I like to tackle projects with a certain simplicity, light-heartedness and sense of humour that makes my work adaptable for audiences of all ages and suitable for a wide variety of purposes.
