Artist Showcase is an ongoing project which aims to keep you in the know and tuned in to the artists we here at PV are excited by and want to shout about! These emails act as a little introduction to an individual's work and will hopefully give you the viewer a unique insight into the mood,style and imagination behind such wonderful creativity. In this showcase we'd like to introduce to you Douglas Alves. A Brazilian-born artist with a lenghty client list and some heavy weight commissions under his belt - his work is full of passion and vibrancy and his intricatelty crafted pen and ink drawings, collages, and computer compositions play with the themes of nature and make believe. His surrealist scenes of the fantastical bring to mind the otherworldliness of artists such as Bosch and Dali who he sites as two of his main influences.




These weirdly beautiful worlds are what initially attracted us to Doug's work and have since been picked up by Adobe to promote the release of thier 2010 CS5 Design Premium Suite - click on the link to see more of Doug's artwork and a short film Adobe have made about Doug's working practices.
