Sweet Sugar Nice Grrrl puppet

Born in 1974, a middle child and prone to hysteria, my childhood was punctuated by episodes of locking myself in the bathroom sobbing "What about ME?!" occasionally glancing in the mirror to see if I was crying attractively enough for a close-up. My natural "flare" for drama was put to good use when I featured as a dancing haystack in a forest scene of Edinburgh Kings Theatre pantomime. Nuff said.

A notable event of my teenage years was the saving of Clint Eastwood's life (true, but you'd have to hire me to hear the story... all I can say is it involved a maroon flying suit and a set of golf clubs).

Art College beckoned where I learned that male painting tutors confuse the words "lecture and letcher".

I graduated with a Fine Art Degree so therefore became employable only to the catering and the sex industries. I chose the latter (kidding).

My hysteria is regularly channelled into things of a musical nature, singing on recent releases by Edinburgh based musicians/producers Grand Unified and Joseph Malik (Compost Records).

As a fine artist I exhibit nationally and was a Beck's photography prize-winner in 2001 (touring exhibition).

My work features in various publications, magazines and websites including the book Imagemakers- Cutting Edge Fashion Illustration (Mitchell-Beazley Publishing), Grafik Magazine, The Royal Magazine, Clandestina Colors Magazine, Design is Kinky, Pixelsurgeon, Scene 360 and Iconique. Clients include Smirnoff, The Independent, Diva Magazine, Product Magazine, various record labels and theatre companies. I have also been invited by Yen Magazine to contribute to Curvy 2005, a book created in association with an exhibition at the Semi Permanent Conference (Australia) celebrating "the hottest female illustrators, artists and designers worldwide". The Curvy publication will be launched in Sydney, London, LA, Tokyo, Toronto, Milan, Paris, Barcelona and Sao Paulo in April 2005.
