Justine's first memorable experience was going to the hospital. She got a crayon stuck up her nose. Luckily for her clients, Justine has since moved on to more appropriate creative tools. Her earliest artistic piece was pretty groundbreaking, it was a piece of wood with nails hammered into it and involved a piece of her mum's knitting wool and some glitter. After many years of creating such pieces Justine graduated from Middlesex University with first class honours. After some years freelancing in the UK she has returned to New Zealand, where she continues to work.
A day in the life... "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head, found my way downstairs and drank a cup, and looking up I noticed two dismembered Wetas and a lizard without a tail on the floor. Damn cats. My brain seems to work better in the morning so I go straight to the computer and play games. Joking. I am still amazed by the fact that I can sit here in this environment and do business with people on the other side of the world. I listen to talkback radio. I’m addicted. Other people ringing in to complain makes me feel slightly more normal. The view out the window is a thick forest of trees and bush, and if you stand on the bed and position yourself correctly you can catch a glimpse of Auckland city through the Nikau palms. Every so often I stop working, pause and think "Man, I'm lucky". Then "What shall I have for lunch" |
