Born in Kent in 1980, I grew up in Oxfordshire, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire before settling in North London after graduating from Middlesex University in 2003 with a first class degree in illustration. I have since been working as a freelance illustrator in London and developing the eclectic style I adopted at university.
My work has appeared in the Association of Illustrators' Images 25,26,27 and 28 annuals and subsequently I have been showcased on the D&AD's Talent Pool website (formally known as Blood Bank) for the past four years.
My work involves lots of different media and found material which I collect from all over the place. Texture and surface pattern are really important to me and my current obsessions are with old wallpaper designs, oriental paper-cutting and flowers.
I work from my studio at home which is a ground floor flat with a little garden where I practice my haphazard gardening skills. I've hardly killed any plants yet this year. |
