J Paull Melegari is a fusion of Jacqui Paull and Carl Melegari.
Jacqui and Carl both studied at Bower Ashton, Bristol where they graduated with honours degrees in graphic design and illustration.
After graduating in Graphic Design, Jacqui worked for various printers, a local newspaper and as a graphic designer for a design department. She was a founder member of a design consultancy where she gained considerable experience and knowledge with a variety of different clients. With the changes in technology she became interested in digitally created images and with this in mind, she became interested in using technology as a tool to become an illustrator.
After graduating in Illustration Carl began free-lancing as an illustrator. He initially worked mainly for publishing companies and then moved on to design and advertising companies specializing in realistic coloured pencil work. He then developed an interest in fine art painting and print-making and exhibited work in galleries which he still pursues and during this period he became interested in modern technology and with the influence of his partner he gradually made the transition to computerized imagery.
Gradually they began working on projects together where Jacqui’s graphic expertise and Carl’s fine art illustrative style fused together.
What has accumulated throughout the years has solidified in the past year into what characterizes their present style. A style that is a combination of mediums of line art, photography, graphics and xerox transfers.
They work together in relative harmony giving each other support and guidance!
