I was born in 1972 in Greece, where I grew up and completed an HND degree at Vacalo School of graphic design and applied arts where I studied mainly fine art drawing and painting as well as history of art, graphic art and jewelery design.
In 1993 I went to London to enroll to the second year of a BA degree in Design Studies working in a variety of fields from drawing to 3d design, photography & design management.
After the completion of my BA, I followed a printmaking course for one year, working at the same time and started to flirt with computers, as I had never used one before. During my learning of Photoshop I started to build my portfolio in order to apply for an MA. The area that emerged as my major interest was image making & I decided then to follow a postgraduate degree (MA) in Communication Design in Central Saint Martins College in London.
Whilst working on early commissions for magazines predominantly I started working on animation, which proved to be my other obsession. I got to work with my partner in a film that was shown in various festivals and provided us with a couple of commissions for some more animation projects, one installation for the British Arts Council and a short animation for Channel 4 (British TV). I also worked for a year for a Multimedia company in London, where I enriched my knowledge on interactive multimedia design and design in general.
Some of the clients that I have worked for include: ATI, UPS, New Scientist, National Geographic, BBC magazines, BT (animation), Channel 4 (animation), Welcome Trust, Macmillan Publications, The Arts Council England (installation/animation) as well as various magazines in the U.K, Europe & USA |
