Becky Blair I met Beck in Nepal eight years ago. She was listening to Ben Harper and putting on a blue face mask. Becky has a love of colour and an eye for detail. She picked out the fluro greens on our walks and noticed the twig the little girl wore as a nose ring. For Becky, there is truth in the saying "One mans trash is another mans treasure" for she has an eye for picking out gems. Her love of second hand floral print bed sheets is testament to that. In things which may otherwise seem ordinary, Becky sees beauty. I think Becky paints in a similar way. Last year we went to Croatia and Becky wanted to buy a house on the idyllic island on Hvar. But she's still travelling and hasnt settled down yet. I wonder if it's the travelling that keeps her mind inspired. I havent asked. Anyway, all Becky got from Hvar is a touristy t-shirt. Thing is, it's very cool. She picks out gems. Cat, February 2003 |
